Andrea Kelly’s figure and landscape paintings explore the evolving nature of our relationships and the world around us, often in hyper-colors, giving the viewer a heightened awareness of light, form, and color.

Born and raised in Bayside, New York, Andrea earned her B.F.A. at School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, where she earned the Roy Lichtenstein scholarship award for excellence. She later began an intensive study of the human figure and anatomy, working closely with mentor and former professor from School of Visual Arts, James Kearns. In 2001 she began exhibiting her work and teaching art privately, and in 2006 she began teaching on the college level.

Teaching experience includes eight years of private workshop sessions for children and teens. As a visiting artist and guest speaker, she has taught figure drawing and classical painting techniques, and has lectured on various art history subjects at schools and art associations. She is currently an adjunct professor of art and design at County College of Morris and Centenary University in New Jersey.
