Jane was born in Victoria and raised in Vancouver Point Grey. in 1970, at age 15, she discovered the world of fibre arts; in 1988 she started to paint.
Jane enjoyed a professional career as a teacher and biologist. Leighdon Design Ideas was established originally as a home-based business to provide home design and staging ideas. Leighdon Studio Gallery was opened in 2008 as a commercial art space. Jane is now retired, but busier than ever. Her paintings, both landscape and abstract, are only sold as one-of-a kind original artwork, but now for the first time being reproduced as articles of clothing and accessories.
