Jan lives, loves and plays in Ladner, BC. with her husband George and 3 black cats. Jan graduated from UBC 1992 with a degree in Social Work. Her artistic journey began in 2014. The inspiration for much of her work comes from places she has travelled, mostly in Western Canada, with the Southern Gulf Islands being some of her favourite locales.
Willing to experiment and continuously trying new and different approaches with acrylics and mixed media enables Jan to express her love of colour and texture. She continues to learn and study through attending various workshops. Her work is in private collections in British Columbia and Ontario. Jan regularly shows her work at Gallery 1710 in Tsawwassen, as well as rotating displays in various locations in Ladner, Tsawwassen, Steveston and White Rock. Jan has had her work juried into Oil & Water in 2017 & 2018, Federation of Canadian Artist’s Painting on the Edge 2017 and had her work included in Luminesence II & III at Deer Lake Gallery, Burnaby.
Jan is active in supporting her local art community as founder and organizer of “For the Love of Art in South Delta” by organizing local show & sale events for artists & artisans in Ladner & Tsawwassen.
