As a teenager I wanted to be a fashion designer. At nineteen I applied for fashion school and got rejected. I didn't fit the profile, too much of a hippy! So I went to live in a very small town where my boyfriend could get work shoeing horses. I finally went to school in my forties to learn pattern drafting. While I was there I fell in love with surface design. I love colour and texture and nature and being outdoors. I'm inspired by my garden, and the river and mountains which surround me in the small town where I live now, just an hour away from the place I went when I was nineteen.
