Mary Ann Gonneau
Bracebridge, Muskoka, Ontario, Canada
A self taught wildlife and pet portrait artist. Mary Ann started sketching/painting at a very young age and was inspired by watching her favourite artist "John Gnagy" on a learn to draw show on TV in the 1960's. Mary Ann begged her mother to buy her the "John Gnagy Learn to Draw" set for Christmas. That art set, along with oil painting sets her older brother bought her started her career in wildlife painting. She has a great love of animals, especially black bears and named her studio after a bear that summered in her backyard for several years. Mary Ann also paints pet portraits, not only dogs and cats, but was even commissioned to paint a pet cow :) There is rarely a day that goes by where Mary Ann isn't in her studio painting and loving every minute of it!
