Born in Fort Worth, he developed an early interest in art. Thames’ work primarily consist of portraiture (acrylic painting) and mixed medium. In his works you can see influences of Jean Michel Basquiat, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, and Andy Warhol. In 2007 Thames began painting acrylics on canvas. He has been painting for nearly 10 years and is a self taught artist. Through mentorship from local artist Thames learned how to better communicate through his art and the study of the human form through his works.
In 2010 Thames was given the opportunity to participate in the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. In 2015 he joined Gallery 3 located in the Bishop Arts District. His works can be seen in these two galleries and in homes all across DFW and the rest of the country. Current examples of his work can be seen at ChristopherThames.com.
